I. Make good decisions and work together Make informed and smart decisions. As an attorney I have reviewed countless documents, papers and reports prior to advising clients on legal issues. As an elected official, I will review all available information prior to making a decision. If I am not satisfied with the received information I will conduct my own investigation to retrieve the necessary information prior to voting on an issue. I will not just vote for (or against) a certain issue/ordinance because other members of our government favor (disagree with) an issue/ordinance. Ultimately, I will make informed and smart decisions. Work together to improve our community Working together to achieve a common goal is one of the most important aspects of a government. If government officials can not work together then how can our Village improve and succeed? Moreover, if government officials can not work together, then how can we expect our Village residents to work together? I will work with all members of our government and community to improve Forest Park. Make Forest Park a better and safer community for all citizens Providing a safe home is one of the most important concerns for any resident or elected official. I will work with our law enforcement officers, neighborhood watch groups and concerned citizens to create a safe community for all Forest Park residents. II. Increase Revenue Revenue is an integral part of having a good village. Increasing revenue will allow the Village to continue to provide those necessary and needed services. There are several ways to increase Forest Park’s revenue. Revitalize Roosevelt Road The area bordering Roosevelt road in conjunction with the traffic on Roosevelt Road creates a potential “cash cow” for our Village. Many new businesses could be transplanted to Roosevelt Road from areas outside Forest Park. This would increase Village revenue and ultimately improve our overall wellbeing. I will work to bring new businesses to Roosevelt Road and work with Federal and State governments to procure funding for improving Roosevelt Road and the businesses currently located on Roosevelt Road. Continued Focus on Madison Street Madison Street is one of the best streets and areas in the western suburbs. Madison Street features numerous restaurants, various boutique stores and several fine drinking establishments. I will focus on Madison Street and continue to assist the businesses in achieving their goals of providing quality goods and services to their customer. III. Improve Education The children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. We must work together with the Board of Education, teachers and parents to provide Forest Park students with the best possible education. Enhance After school programs Unfortunately there are a limited number of after schools programs for Forest Park children. After school programs promote education, increase self esteem and increase the capacity to serve children. After school programs decrease vandalism and child delinquency. I will work to improve our current after school programs and attempt to increase the programs available for our students. IV. Proper utilization of resources It’s your money, not mine The money generated and expended by the Village is not my money, it is your money. I will work to limit unnecessary and wasteful spending while increasing funding on those necessary programs which help the Village, community and us residents. V. Focus on Senior needs Senior citizens are an important part of our community Senior citizens are a very important part of Forest Park. We must increase funding and programs which provide medicine, transportation and food services to senior citizens. Many seniors in Forest Park are unable to receive proper medical care due to lack of funding or the Village's failure to provide adequate transportation. We must provide services to assist our seniors! Additionally, we must increase senior interest programs which provide entertainment and educational opportunities for our senior citizens. Together we can make a difference for our families, our community and our Village!!!
